I haven’t often had the opportunity to shoot a village hall wedding, just a few times but I’ve always enjoyed them. Village Hall weddings tend to be quite intimate and allow for the couples to stamp themselves on the venue. This was certainly the case at Rose and Greg’s wedding recently in Silverdale and Whitmore. In fact Greg was busily running around on the morning of the wedding delivering hay bales to the hall and so on, but by the time the guests arrived everything was in place and the sun was glorious. You couldn’t have asked for a better day for a wedding.
Rose and Greg got married in St Lukes Church in Silverdale and then headed for the Village Hall in Whitmore for their reception. I started the morning with Rose and her bridesmaids and family at the hotel they were staying at to capture some of her preparations and from there to the church and then the hall. I’m not sure how many guests there were but there were enough to keep the party jumping for hours while still feeling quite intimate. There was sunshine and cake and dancing and many many jagerbombs. All in all a grand day out.
Events have over taken me a bit with this post. Shortly after the wedding I entered on of the images into the WPJA monthly judging and it won an award. That was my second award in as many months which was a heart warming feeling. Here’s a short blog post about that award and that image . Here’s a selection of some of my favourite pictures from the day.
