Unposed Wedding Photography, another award.

If you have spent time on this site you have probably come to the understanding that I’m all about unposed wedding photography. I really don’t see any need to go interfering with the couple and their day in order to make images like this which as far as I’m concerned show you and more importantly them what their wedding day felt like.

Destination wedding photography. An Award.

A couple more awards dropped through the ‘e-letterbox’ recently. Both from the Wedding Photojournalist Association.  Here’s the first of them, I’ll post the second in a few days perhaps. This image comes from Frank and Romy’s destination wedding in New Orleans. I say destination wedding, it was a destination wedding for me, the couple themselves…

Reportage Wedding Photography Award.

“Because moments matter most” “Showcasing the very best in documentary wedding photography: Nothing staged, no poses, just pure, natural images taken by some of the world’s very best photographers”. That’s what it says on the front page of This is Reportage a website specialising, as it says, in showcasing the best in international reportage wedding…

Marlis and James, a wedding at Colehayes Park.

Colehayes Park in Devon is the perfect DIY wedding venue. It’s a grade II listed manor house with acres of woodland, gardens, lakes, offering exclusive use for weddings. You can take it over for the weekend and make it exactly what you want it to be. And so it was that Marlis and James came…

Destination Wedding Photography. An Award

I was going to blog something else today,  this was going to be about a recent wedding at Colehayes Park in Devon, not destination wedding photography but then this happened and so I’ve decided to post the wedding tomorrow and post this one instead today. So what’s ‘this’? An award, from the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalists…

A London Wedding, Ash and Keisha.

Though based in Devon and Cornwall, I shoot weddings anywhere I’m the right fit for the couple. That said I’m not often called upon for a wedding in London for some reason so it was with great pleasure that I headed up to the smoke for the London wedding of Ash and Keisha a few…

Top ranked documentary wedding photographer in Devon now based in Cornwall as well.

Sometimes you just want to get away from it all. This lad thought he had ninja-level skills at hiding, perhaps he does, no one else seems to have noticed him. This image comes from the collection from John and Mary Ann’s wedding in Suffolk a little while back. Anyway, I forgot to mention this award…

A New Orleans wedding. Frank and Romy.

Back in November of 2018 an email popped into my inbox in the early hours of the morning. It was from Frank and Romy. Briefly they introduced themselves, Frank a photographer, Romy a painter, said they were getting married in their hometown of New Orleans and asked whether I was available and whether I would like to travel to their wedding.

A Wedding Party in Suffolk. John and Mary-Ann.

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely wedding party for a couple at their home in Suffolk. John and Mary-Ann had got married a little while ago and then hosted a post wedding party in their garden. A large group of family and friends made their way through the…

Wedding Photojournalism Award.

A pleasant surprise was waiting for me this morning.  Overnight I have received another award for documentary wedding photojournalism from the WPJA.  This image shown above has been awarded a WPJA Honour Award. This one comes from Rose and Greg’s wedding at St Lukes Church, Silverdale, not quite a year ago, in fact it’s their…
