Sheridan and David told me that originally they hadn’t planned to have a photographer at their wedding at all, and then they saw my site. They didn’t want the traditional staged and posed wedding photography but something that would be more informal – a record of what happened on the day, the story of them and their family and friends celebrating their marriage at Mill End Hotel on the banks of Devon’s River Teign. I set out early to get to Mill End Hotel to start the day with Sheridan and her bridesmaids getting ready. David was getting ready at home and then the best man was taking him to the pub to complete his preparations. When we met David had expressed some concern about the timings of his getting to the hotel, Sheridan had arranged all the transport and it seemed a little tight to him. What he didn’t know at that point was that Sheridan had arranged for him to arrive by helicopter and that the timings were in fact worked out exactly!
It was a gorgeous day at Mill End Hotel by the time David arrived in the helicopter and the guests were all waiting for him. Sheridan was peeking from the window and from the moment he landed the weather held for the rest of the day so everyone was able to make the most of the beautiful grounds before moving to the marquee that had been set up in the gardens for the afternoon tea and evening party.
And what a party it was, a singer and dj who had the marquee positively jumping on the lawn into the early hours. One of the best partys I’ve been to for a long time, driven by friends and family who had come from all over the world for the day and in many cases hadnt seen each other for years.
It was a great day, enjoyed by all not least me. Congratulations Sheridan and David.
